On February 9, <\/sup>2026, Greenwood Sustainable Infrastructure (GSI) announced that they have successfully closed a $200 million+ construction-to-term and Investment Tax Credit (ITC) bridge financing for the 100 MWac Turning Sun Solar Project in Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The financing, led by RBC and Desjardins Group, brings together more than $200 million in private and public capital to support the project\u2019s development, construction, and long-term operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to advising on permitting and construction matters, Miller Thomson LLP acted as lead counsel to GSI on the $200 million+ project financing of Turning Sun Solar. This transaction marks a significant milestone for the firm\u2019s energy practice and represents RBC\u2019s first energy project financing of this scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turning Sun Solar is a 100 MWac\/129 MWdc utility-scale solar facility located in the traditional territory of the Ocean Man Nakoda and the Rural Municipality of Estevan, Saskatchewan, and is being developed in partnership with the Ocean Man First Nation. Once operational, the project will produce power under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with SaskPower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greenwood Sustainable Infrastructure (GSI) is one of the clean energy subsidiaries of Libra Group. GSI is a renewable energy company focused on the development, construction, and operation of distributed generation and utility-scale solar energy and battery storage projects in North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ocean Man First Nation is a Nakoda Government in southeast Saskatchewan. OMFN is led by Chief Ernest Standingready & Council and is comprised of a population of 580 members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
