It’s a New School Year!

September 30, 2013

It is a new school year for the Education Law Group at Miller Thomson, and we have already been busy making professional development opportunities available for the education community with monthly webinars.  We have also combined our blog and newsletter into a monthly on-line publication, available on our website or by email.

We hope that you enjoyed our first Morning Recess webinar this school year on student discipline, which aired on September 19, 2013.  Our next Morning Recess webinar, scheduled for October 17, 2013, will provide further information regarding recommendations for expulsion.  On November 21, 2013 Morning Recess will be reviewing the new changes to be brought about by the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act.  If you are interested in either session and are not currently receiving our Morning Recess invitations, please contact morningrecess@millerthomson.com.

We have also developed a three part special education webinar series regarding Transition Pathways.  The dates for that series are October 18, 2013, November 15, 2013 and January 24, 2014.  For an invitation to this special education series, please contact morningrecess@millerthomson.com.

If you are not able to join us live, our Morning Recess webinars are available as podcasts on our website.

We are always interested in your feedback and suggestions for Morning Recess topics and Newsletter articles.  Our email address is educationlaw@millerthomson.com.

We hope to see some of you at the November 1, 2013 OCASE Symposium.

The Education Law Group at Miller Thomson wishes you a positive and productive school year!
