A 2010 provincial bill, yet to come into effect, has complicated the future of the Ottawa Tennis and Lawn Bowling Club and pitted one group of its shareholders against another.

The Not-For-Profit Corporations Act will require “corporations of a social nature,” such as the tennis and lawn bowling club to either become a business corporation or a non-profit five years after it comes into effect.
