Taryn Simionati is a Partner and has been practicing exclusively in family law since 2011.  Taryn has extensive experience and is well versed in complex income, property and equalization matters as well as matters involving custody and access, child support and spousal support.   Taryn understands the importance of resolutions in family law disputes and is a strong advocate for her clients rights whether it be in the courtroom or by way of alternative dispute resolution such as negotiation/mediation or arbitration.  Taryn ensures that she obtains the best results for her clients and does not shy away from highly contested matters.  She has appeared in all levels of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal, the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice.

Taryn has extensive experience in drafting complex separation agreements and utilizes creative and practical solutions to assist parties in reaching a mutually agreeable resolution in an amicable manner.  When this is not possible, Taryn will represent her clients vigorously in court.  Taryn also has extensive experience in drafting marriage contracts and cohabitation agreements for all parties including high net worth individuals.

Prior to joining Miller Thomson LLP, Taryn worked with a sole practitioner in Oakville where she was able to hone her family law skills.

Taryn obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours from the University of Western Ontario with a specialization in Sociology and a minor in Criminology.  Taryn obtained her J.D. from Queen’s University, Faculty of Law in 2010 and received the David Sabbath award in her Law & Sexuality court.  During law school, Taryn attended Herstmonceux Castle in England and obtained a Certificate in International Business Law.

Taryn lives in Burlington and represents clients from Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Brampton, Guelph and surrounding areas.
