Scott Tinney is building a broad real estate law practice focusing on commercial leasing, sales, acquisitions and dispositions of real property, and acquisition financing. Scott is forward-thinking, efficient, and creative when advising clients on various real estate matters. He communicates effectively with clients and other team members to ensure satisfactory results.
Scott summered and articled with Miller Thomson LLP and joined the firm as an Associate following his call to the Ontario Bar in 2019. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law in 2018. During his time at law school, Scott served as a volunteer for the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and participated in an Animals in the Law and Humanities Working Group. Scott also volunteered with the International Human Rights Program where he studied international humanitarian law and helped to annotate academic sources for the International Committee of the Red Cross. Additionally, Scott volunteered at the University of Toronto’s Downtown Legal Services and served as a Peer Mentor for first year law students at the University of Toronto.
Prior to attending law school, Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Queen’s University with a major in Political Studies – graduating with distinction in 2015. Scott notably worked in the television industry during summers while studying at Queen’s.
