Samantha (Sam) Santos is an Associate in Miller Thomson’s corporate and commercial law practice, with a focus on the emerging growth and venture capital areas. Sam brings a unique and diverse perspective, having worked with in-house legal teams of technology companies at various stages and sizes, from start-ups to multinational organizations.
Sam joins Miller Thomson after completing her articles with the firm. During her articling term, she assisted with a variety of incorporation and organizational work, debt and equity financings, and other day-to-day commercial matters.
Prior to law school, Sam championed marketing and demand generation campaigns of multiple product teams for a multinational enterprise applications software company, and managed the global procurement process of an e-learning company.
Sam is an active member of the community. She is passionate about literacy, and frequently volunteers with an organization that supports after-school programs focused on helping address the needs of newcomer and refugee children. While in school, Sam also served as a mentor through various mentorship programs, including the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program (WLMP) at the University of Ottawa and various programs catered towards mentoring international students at the University of Waterloo.
