Overview
Mark De Sanctis specializes in litigation and contract disputes. Mark's novel approach to create effective and efficient solutions to complex issues has been recognized by the judiciary. Mark continues to advocate on behalf of his clients in a manner tailored to each client to achieve the desired goal.
Mark acted for the Appellants on an appeal that involved the interpretation of a contract of a national company. The Court of Appeal for Ontario accepted the arguments and reversed the decision of the trial judge. Mark successfully responded to an application for leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada such that a binding precedent was set in Ontario that impacted the industry.
Mark has also acted in a matter that challenged the constitutionality of legislation in Ontario as well as highlighting the inefficiency in judicial resources that the province has provided to Ontario’s court system. Throughout this endeavour, Mark was engaged in providing submissions that involved the Ministry of the Attorney General for Ontario in an attempt to promote transparency and efficiency that would better serve the judicial system and Ontarians.
Mark’s previous litigation experience is a valuable asset to the firm’s clients.
Mark is a continuous charitable supporter of various advanced medical research initiatives. Specifically in relation to Vaughan, Mark has volunteered at Shining Through Centre for Autism by assisting, supervising, and teaching young children as well as an environmental volunteer during the Communities in Bloom initiative. Mark is an active member of the Ontario Justice Education Network (OJEN) and has volunteered to speak at several secondary schools informing the youth about legal issues.
