Konstantin (Kosta) Starostin has a transactional practice focused on Corporate/M&A, Securities and Technology law. Konstantin takes a personalized, business-driven approach when advising clients on complex legal matters. Konstantin has extensive experience acting on M&A and Securities transactions of varying size and complexity, both private and public, including the financing and technology aspects in connection therewith.
As part of his Technology law practice, Konstantin works closely with clients to understand their core business and provide creative, efficient solutions. Konstantin is passionate about technology and has extensive experience negotiating, drafting and reviewing a variety of sophisticated software, licensing, cloud computing, outsourcing and technology agreements. Konstantin advises companies at all stages, from initial organization and funding of new start-ups through to the development and protection of mature lines of business. Konstantin has advised clients on matters pertaining to Privacy, Licensing, Cybersecurity and Gaming, and has a particular interest in AI and Blockchain technologies.
Konstantin is an Associate Chair of Miller Thomson’s United Way committee and is an advising lawyer for the Ryerson Business & Law Clinic, as well as the Ryerson Pro Bono Legal Clinic, which provides legal assistance to university students on a variety of corporate/commercial issues.
Prior to attending law school, Konstantin obtained his Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from McMaster University, and worked as a profit analyst for a large multinational corporation, where he was responsible for the oversight of Canadian fixed assets, as well as product profitability, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance matters.
