Overview
Jessica’s practice focuses primarily on estate and succession planning and estate administration. Jessica enjoys working collaboratively with other professional advisors to ensure that her clients’ assets are transferred in accordance with their wishes.
Jessica advises her clients in the following areas:
Estate Planning: Jessica regularly advises on estate planning matters for professionals and owner-manager clients, families that have individuals with disabilities and blended family situations. She also assists clients in developing an incapacity plan through the preparation of powers of attorney for personal care and powers of attorney for the management of property.
Estate Administration: Jessica assists estate trustees with the preparation of the Application for a Certificate of Appointment and provides ongoing advice throughout the estate administration process.
Real Estate: Jessica assists clients with the purchase and sale of residential properties. She has a particular focus on transferring property on behalf of estate trustees during the course of the administration of an estate.
Jessica is a frequent speaker on private client matters for local organizations and recently presented at the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors.
Jessica received her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law where she graduated Cum Laude. During law school, she volunteered for Pro Bono Students Canada and acted as a mentor for the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program.
