Anita focuses on helping companies and individuals protect, commercialize and manage their intellectual property assets. She enjoys getting to know her clients’ business objectives and providing practical advice that helps her clients achieve their goals.
Anita’s practice encompasses all aspects of intellectual property law including obtaining patent, trademark, copyright and industrial design protection worldwide, managing intellectual property disputes, and advising on licensing matters and related contractual agreements.
She provides legal services to clients that include small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, educational institutions and sole inventors.
Anita is a Co-Chair of the CBABC Young Lawyers Advisory Board and focuses on developing resources for and advocating on issues affecting young lawyers within the profession.
Prior to joining Miller Thomson, Anita worked for a couple years as an associate in IP boutique firms and have gained in-depth experience advising on various IP matters across various industries.
Anita is a regular volunteer with Access Pro Bono BC’s Solicitors’ Roster Program. She also is an active mentor to law students in various mentorship programs with the CBABC and FACL BC.
