Overview
Alicia MacNeil maintains a general civil and commercial litigation practice. Alicia has a particular interest in contract law, insurance law, professional liability, shareholder disputes, matrimonial property litigation and estate litigation. Alicia has experience drafting complex legal opinions, court applications, briefs and written submissions for a variety of forums.
Alicia obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2019 graduating with distinction. During her time at the Faculty of Law, Alicia volunteered with the Civil Project of Student Legal Services, served as a student mentor for first year law students and assisted with establishing the Edmonton Mental Health Court.
Prior to attending law school, Alicia obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Alberta. While completing her undergraduate degree, Alicia spent much of her spare time as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters and was extensively involved in research for the Alberta NCR Project at the Alberta Hospital.
Alicia remains actively involved in the Edmonton legal community, serving as a volunteer with both the Civil Claims Duty Counsel Program and the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench Amicus Program.
