Alexandra Lyon is the National Manager, Paraprofessionals – Business Law at Miller Thomson. Alexandra is responsible for the direction, mentoring, education, professional development and overall management of the paraprofessionals in the Business Law Practice Group in all offices of Miller Thomson. As a member of the Paraprofessional Management team, she develops, designs and administers programs for improving the quality, value and efficiency of the paraprofessional services across the firm. Alexandra works with practice group chairs and other shared services teams to establish and cultivate strong and enduring client relationships and provide quality, efficient and cost-effective client services.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Laws in Venezuela, she practised commercial/corporate law, before pursuing a career in Canada as a corporate paralegal. She has over 13 years of extensive experience with large commercial transactions, including private mergers and acquisitions and tax reorganizations. Since 2008, Alexandra has been actively involved in significant national projects relating to the management of Business Law services.
Prior to her current role, Alexandra was the Corporate Services Manager of the Montréal office of Miller Thomson and as such was responsible for the overall direction and management of the team of paralegals and assistants. She worked to create and implement policies, procedures and best practices to establish effective and efficient work flow processes.
Alexandra is a member of the International Practice Management Association and the Canadian Association of Paralegals.
