This is a full-day seminar targeted at employers who are unsure of what their workplace-related rights and responsibilities will be once legal cannabis comes into effect.

Attendees in the morning session will learn from Miller Thomson LLP about the main provisions of Bill C-45 the Cannabis Act, the rights and responsibilities of both employees and employers in the workplace. This includes information about an employer’s duty to accommodate, distinguishing between recreational and medical cannabis use, the legality of drug testing protocols and more.

The afternoon workshop will feature a hands-on drug and alcohol policy making session facilitated by MNP LLP. Attendees will leave with a draft policy for their workplace. All participants will have the opportunity to ask industry experts questions and ensure that their businesses are prepared for the changes brought by legal cannabis.
