Miller Thomson Partners Sarah Hansen, Troy McEachren and Kristina Shaw are recipients of the 2018 Lexpert Zenith Awards celebrating Mid-Career Excellence.
The Zenith Awards recognize lawyers across the country who excel in their area of law and in social responsibility.
- Sarah Hansen is noted for her expertise in environmental and Aboriginal law, with an outstanding track record of success in a field with a notably high level of complexity. She represents clients through environmental assessments both federally and provincially and in contaminated sites litigation. She led the firm’s team working with a First Nation in opposing a proposed copper and gold mine. As a result, provincial ministers did not grant approval for the mine.
- Troy McEachren is an experienced estate and trust lawyer, providing legal, strategic and policy advice and services to a wide range of charities and non-profit organizations. He is an instructor at HEC Montréal, teaching the succession and tax planning course in the Masters of Laws (Taxation) Program and is frequently asked to speak at conferences and panels on philanthropy.
- Corporate commercial lawyer Kristina Shaw has many years of experience advising on a range of business law matters. She has acted as lead counsel on a number of large M&A transactions and works in the firm’s Social Impact practice on various mergers and acquisitions in the not-for-profit sector. She has devoted her time to a number of charities, most recently focusing on children’s healthcare.
In addition to their many contributions within the firm, the dedication and enthusiasm of our award winners for the practice of law are what make them exemplary members of the Miller Thomson team and we proudly congratulate them on this well-deserved honour.
