Andrew Cohen has been recognized as “Dealmaker of the Year – M&A Legal Advisor” by the Montréal M&A Club. More than 300 people from the business community and media sector attended this first M&A Awards Gala in Quebec yesterday night. The Executive Vice-President, Québec of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Christian Dubé, acted as Honorary Chairman for this event.
Furthermore, the setting up of Distribution Stox Inc. by our client Unimax Ltée was named “Deal of the Year – Debt Financing”. (Miller Thomson team: Michel La Roche, Claude Picard, Simon Labrecque, Francis Trifiro, Bruno Caron, Chantal Joubert, Stéphanie Normandin, Éloïse Gagné, Ève Tessier, Freddy Orlando and Grégory Morin-Maltais).
The Gala’s main objective is to salute the remarkable work accomplished by M&A professionals in Quebec as well as to celebrate the excellence of this sector and its contribution to the economy. A total of six awards were given over the evening: four in the category “Deal of the Year (Cross Border, Debt Financing, Private Equity, Succession Deal) and two in the category “Dealmaker of the Year” (M&A Legal Advisor, M&A Advisor).
