Webinar – Privacy: What Canadian businesses need to know to be GDPR compliant

Imran Ahmad |

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) is slated to come into force in May 2018. The GDPR will have far-reaching consequences for businesses located within and outside the European Union, including many Canadian businesses. With fines of up to €20 million, or 4 percent of annual worldwide turnover, the cost for non-compliance has never been higher.

This webinar, presented by Appnovation and Miller Thomson, brings together two panelists who will share their insights on how Canadian businesses can determine whether they are caught by the GDPR, how to build a robust compliance program and common pitfalls to avoid.

Panel members will discuss:

  • Legal requirements of the GDPR
  • How to build a robust GDPR compliance program
  • Developing a GDPR compliance framework and timeline
  • Consent management
  • Data access, deletion and erasure
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery
