Upcoming Changes to Employee Stock Option Regime

September 10, 2019 | Catherine Brayley | Vancouver

In the 2019 Federal Budget, the government announced its intention to change the employee stock option regime. On June 17, 2019 the Department of Finance released draft legislation that will change the tax treatment of and compliance obligations for options issued after 2019 to employees of companies other than Canadian-controlled private corporations.

Miller Thomson’s Corporate, Capital Markets and Tax Groups are pleased to invite you to a complimentary seminar where we will review:

  • the changes
  • how they will affect Canadian companies and their employees
  • steps that should be considered before the end of the year
