Miller Thomson is pleased to invite you to join us for a complimentary breakfast seminar presented by the lawyers from our Social Impact group, who will discuss general best practices for non-profits and charities operating in Alberta, as well as cover recent developments in the voluntary sector that may impact your organization.

Joining Miller Thomson is Deryck Williams of Grant Thornton who will discuss how the success of AGILE software development has led to its governing principles being applied in other environments, especially those where adapting to uncontrollable, rapid external change and tight budgets abound.

  • remaining nimble in today’s shifting landscape – Deryck Williams
  • the basics of gift agreements
  • general updates in the voluntary sector including:
    ◦ social housing policies;
    ◦ public policy dialogue and development rules (formerly known as political activities).
