On June 6, 2019, the Connecting Care Act, 2019 came into force. Over 150 potential Ontario Health Teams made Self-Assessment submissions to the Ministry, and on July 17, 2019, the Ministry announced that 31 groups have been invited to submit a full Application to become an Ontario Health Team, while another 43 groups have been designated as “in development”.
The deadline for full Ontario Health Team Applications is October 9, 2019. The Application requires sign-off by the Board Chair of each Member organization. To assist and support Boards of Directors in understanding the Ontario Health Team Application and your role as governors in this process, we will be hosting a Directors Series webinar on October 3, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. entitled “The Ontario Health Team Application: What Directors Need to Know”, presented by Karima Kanani.
This session will cover:
- Status Update on the Connecting Care Act, 2019 and Ontario Health Teams
- Key Requirements of the OHT Application
- Ontario Health Team Governance and Leadership
- Role of the Board in System Transformation
This program is eligible for up to 1.0 Substantive Hour of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO). Note: Participants intending to claim LSO CPD credits are required to register individually and participate in the live webinar.
