Earlier this year, our partner and friend Tom Tower passed away.
Tom was a partner in our financial services group, working in our Toronto office. Tom began with Miller Thomson as a summer student, articled with us and became a leader in his chosen area of practice during his career with the firm. People will remember Tom professionally for the quality of his work. Highly intelligent, Tom was always respected for his meticulous attention to detail.
But we will remember Tom most for his quick wit, his great sense of humour, and his warm personality. He was a fun person to be around and he made the lives of others better.
Tom contributed a great deal to Miller Thomson over the years and has helped forge the firm’s reputation. He leaves behind many colleagues with whom he became great friends. While the firm is lessened by his passing, it is so much better for his having devoted his professional life to our success.
If you are inclined to make a donation in Tom’s memory, he was very supportive of the Egale Centre. You may also want to consider the Princess Margaret Cancer Center palliative care unit. Donations may be made to PMCF here. When on the site select “Al Hertz Centre for Supportive and Palliative Care” under fund allocation.
