It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of Pierre Paquet, the Managing Partner of our Montréal office and long-standing member of Miller Thomson’s National Executive Committee, of a recently diagnosed brain tumour. Throughout his life, Pierre distinguished himself for his unrelenting search for excellence, his inquiring mind, fighting spirit and fierce determination. An exceptionally gifted litigator, he was known not only for his total commitment to his work but above all for his strong resolve in finding for his clients simple and yet strategic solutions to their complex business issues. His approach to his firm leadership responsibilities was just as focused, balanced and pragmatic. Pierre’s contributions to his profession, his firm and the business community of Montréal have been central to elevating Miller Thomson’s stature in the Quebec market.
In addition to his remarkable professional accomplishments, Pierre was dedicated to giving back to the community. For 26 years, he served as a director of the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Foundation and had been one of its executive committee members since 1996. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Douglas Institute Foundation in Montréal. Along with those corporate positions, Pierre was a 12-year board member and secretary of the Laval-sur-le-lac Golf Club.
All who were privileged to know him will appreciate that we have lost an extraordinary colleague, friend and firm ambassador.
Pierre and his family were supported by a dedicated team of doctors and staff of The Neuro, and would be grateful that expressions of sympathy be directed through a donation to The Neuro.
