On March 1, 2018, GFL Environmental Inc. announced the closing of the acquisition of Smithrite Disposal and Carney’s Waste Systems, the premier independent solid waste service providers in British Columbia, providing solid waste, recyclable and organic food waste collection, hauling, processing and management services to municipal, commercial and industrial customers.
GFL, headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, is a diversified environmental services company providing a comprehensive line of solid waste, infrastructure & soil remediation, and liquid waste management services through its platform of facilities across Canada and in Southeastern Michigan.
