Overview

Usama received both a Canadian and an American Juris Doctor degree through the Dual JD program at the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy, in 2022.

During his time in law school, Usama was one of the founding members of the Human Rights Law Association of Windsor. He was also an elected representative of the Windsor Law Technology & Intellectual Property Club and the Labour & Employment Law Society. Usama also had the opportunity to participate in a specialized Inter School Negotiation focused on mediation and alternative dispute resolution. In his third year, Usama served as a student attorney at the University of Detroit Mercy’s Trademark & Entrepreneur Clinic. In this role, he completed applications to start a client’s business and filed a trademark application with the United States Patent & Trademark Office to protect a client’s wordmark.

Prior to attending law school, Usama obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Calgary.

In his spare time, Usama enjoys working out, hiking, and is an avid listener of R&B music. A personal goal of his is to hike every trail in the Banff/Canmore/Kananaskis region!
