Overview

Taylor obtained her Juris Doctor with a specialization in Indigenous Legal Studies from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia (Allard Law). Prior to law school Taylor received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Criminology with Distinction from Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

During her final year of law school, Taylor completed a semester at the Vancouver Provincial Court as a Judicial Intern as a part of Allard Law’s Judicial Externship, where she worked alongside Provincial Court Judges and had the opportunity to attend and help with Circuit Court in two rural Northern BC Communities.

Taylor is Métis and during her time at Allard Law she was an active member of UBC’s Indigenous Law Student’s Association (ILSA), serving as Secretary in her second year and as Co-Secretary in her final year. Taylor was very involved with the Allard community as an Indigenous Student Mentor to incoming first year Indigenous law students, as a Legal Buddy to incoming first year law students and as a Student Ambassador. Taylor also served as a Clinic Head at the Marpole Clinic with the Law Students Legal Advice Program (LSLAP) and was a presenter in Allard’s Legal Outreach Program where she taught high school students about different aspects of the law while introducing them to a potential career in law.

Taylor received various awards and scholarships during law school including, the Harold F. and Anne Bedner Uphill Scholarship in Law in 2020, 2021, 2022, the Boyd Ferris Memorial Prize in Advocacy in 2021, and the GERVIN Métis Award for Distinguished Advocacy and Leadership in 2021.

In her spare time, Taylor enjoys playing competitive fastpitch, weightlifting, running, hiking and golfing.
