Overview

Rijja earned her law degree from the University of Windsor.

During law school, Rijja particularly enjoyed studying Corporate Finance and Securities Regulation. She worked as a Caseworker at Legal Assistance of Windsor, where she served low-income communities in Windsor-Essex County by providing legal services with matters related to the Landlord Tenant Board and Social Benefits Tribunal. While at Windsor, Rijja joined the Family Law Society to help organize events and facilitated a Roundtable discussion on careers in family law. Rijja also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada to complete a Justice at Work Public Interest Guide aimed at providing resources for Windsor law students. Through this project, Rijja also assisted in creating an online database of organizations and firms in immigration and refugee law as a resource for law students.

From 2019 to 2022, Rijja served as a member of the Youth Justice Committee at the John Howard Society in Kitchener-Waterloo, supporting youth through completing a restorative diversion program.

Prior to law school, Rijja received her postgraduate degree in Social Work and her undergraduate degree in Social Development Studies with a Legal Studies minor, both from the University of Waterloo. During law school, Rijja also remained a Teaching Assistant in the Social Development Studies department at the University of Waterloo.

In her free time, Rijja enjoys playing volleyball, watching true-crime documentaries, and spending time with her family. She is currently pursuing a Canadian Securities Course certificate to enhance her legal skills.
