Overview

Monica completed her law degree at the University of Western Ontario in 2020.

While in law school, Monica worked as a research assistant to Professors Nocilla and Telfer in the area of bankruptcy and insolvency. She also participated in several moot competitions. Notably, she received the Best Respondent Factum Award at the Lerners Cup, and represented Western at the Bora Laskin Moot competition in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Monica was awarded academic awards at Western Law for earning the top grades in bankruptcy-related courses, including the Insolvency Institute of Canada Prize in Insolvency Studies, and the Catalyst Capital Scholarship in Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring Law.

Prior to law school, Monica obtained a BBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University, and completed an exchange semester in Aix-en-Provence, France.

In her spare time, Monica enjoys playing basketball, watching NBA games, and distance-running. She also enjoys reading fiction and exploring old bookshops in any city she visits.
