Overview

Maddi graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in June 2022. Prior to law school, Maddi completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Sociology and International Development at McGill University. While at McGill, Maddi interned at the Institute for Health and Social Policy, where she conducted research on the public private healthcare debate. She continued to work in the field of health policy during law school at the North American Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. In collaboration with a group of colleagues, she created public health profiles for each of the provinces and territories within Canada.

During law school, Maddi completed an externship at Neighborhood Legal Services, where she assisted with the Health Justice Program and connected low income individuals to applicable legal services. Maddi also acted as a student caseworker at Downtown Legal Services in the Family Law Division, and successfully represented a client at a motion on the issue of parenting time. Maddi was the President of the Health Law Club, and was in charge of organizing and moderating a discussion panel with a group of lawyers who work in the field of health law. She has also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, where she conducted legal research for an HIV/AIDS immigration law clinic, and was a student representative for the Student’s Law Society.

Maddi grew up in Vancouver close to the mountains, and is an avid hiker and skier. In her spare time, she loves baking, traveling, and playing and coaching volleyball.
