Karen A.R Dickson, Partner

Biography

Karen Dickson practices business law and is a partner in the Vancouver office of Miller Thomson.  As a member of the firm's Corporate and Commercial practice groups, she provides legal advice to clients in the areas of business law and finance. She is Co-Chair of the firm’s National Financial Services Group.

Karen has extensive experience advising clients in the sale or acquisition of shares or assets, granting security over personal property, corporate re-organizations, shareholders' agreements and major business contracts. She counsels corporations on general corporate legal matters. Karen’s focus in her financing practice is her representation of a major Canadian Bank with respect to automotive lending, and asset-based financing. 

Karen has lectured for Continuing Legal Education on several aspects of the Personal Property Security Act.  She has also been a guest lecturer for the Professional Legal Training Course program on Buying and Selling a Business, Debtor-Creditor Relations, Incorporations and the Personal Property Security Act.

Karen has been involved in the community for 25 years.  From 2002 to 2005, she served as a governor on the board of Vancouver Community College (serving two years as Chair of its Governance Committee). She has also been a director of Neighbourhood House, Touchstone Theatre, Anna Wyman Dance Theatre and The Vancouver Playhouse.  Karen is committed to providing excellent legal services to all her clients.
