Steve O’Melia defends former Aurora Mayor from Conflict of Interest Allegations

13 février 2013 | Steven J. O’Melia | Waterloo Region

Steve O’Melia of our Waterloo office recently
defended Phyllis Morris, the former Mayor of the Town of Aurora, against
allegations made under the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act. Madam
Justice Gilmore of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice found that the
application had been commenced after the applicable limitation period, but in
any event there had not been a breach of the Act by Mayor Morris. The Court’s
decision is final and there is no further right of appeal.
