Our Group

Miller Thomson’s Outsourcing Group is comprised of lawyers from a variety of practice areas including the firm’s securities, IT, tax and corporate and commercial practices.  When appropriate, its members draw on the expertise of their colleagues in other practice areas such as Labour and Employment, Pensions and Benefits, Privacy and Information Protection and Litigation.  Our group is national in scope, and also has ties to a network of international firms that can assist with jurisdiction-specific issues on international transactions.

Our Clients

We work with a variety of clients including private sector businesses of all sizes and across various industry sectors and many public sector clients, each of whom may be either the acquirer or provider with respect to a procurement or outsourcing transaction.

Our Expertise

The expertise of each member of our group is derived from the knowledge that they possess of the laws in their area of practice, as well as their experience working on local, national and international outsourcing transactions.  This means that our group is able to work with our clients to manage and find creative solutions for the issues that can arise while negotiating an outsourcing arrangement.  We know well that “one-size fits all” is not an appropriate approach for pricing strategies, key performance indicators or any other aspect of a complex outsourcing transaction.  As well, we know that entering into an outsourcing deal is only the beginning, and we help our clients with practical and business-minded solutions to the issues that arise while an outsourcing transaction is in place, and when it comes to an end.
