He serves a diverse clientele that includes financial institutions, real estate developers, manufacturing companies, investors, as well as public and parapublic organizations.

He has acted before specialized tribunals and common law courts at all levels. As well, he has pleaded before national and international arbitration boards. Cases in which he has been involved relate to, among other matters, request for orders or for damages in contractual or extra-contractual liability litigation. He has acted either on behalf of plaintiffs or defendants.

In that regard, he has represented successfully a plaintiff in an arbitration held in Geneva under the ICC rules of arbitration. This dispute dealt with the contractual interpretation of terms dealing with breach of bonus provisions owed to a financial advisor within the context of the refinancing of a F1 Grand Prix team.

He has also acted for a Canadian manufacturer that designs and engineers specialized furnaces in the context of U.S., AAA arbitration, such arbitration having been settled following mediation.

Morever, over the last five years, he has acted for claimants in two arbitrations dealing with requests for damages and contract interpretation. The first case had for object a mining dispute between option joint venture partners. The second dealt with a claim of false representations and fraud under a share purchase agreement. These last two arbitrations were intricate and complex in nature, both hearings having lasted more than six months.

Finally, more recently, Mr. Paquet has acted in a lengthy trial relating to a dispute surrounding the implementation of an ERP system and, in that context, he acted on behalf of an IT world leader. This trial has recently concluded and judgment has been reserved.

Mr. Paquet is perfectly bilingual. He represents his clients using French or English, in hearings and pleadings, as the situation or context may require.

Mr. Paquet has extensive experience in cases involving insurance, commercial contracts and litigation relating to directors, shareholders or managers liability. He has also acted in cases involving determination of professional liability of trustees, accountants, actuaries and financial advisors.
