Gord Robson has practiced insurance litigation for 36 years. He carries on a large practice in mediation and arbitration at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
Gord has extensive trial experience in actions regarding municipal liability; motor vehicle accidents in both tort and accident benefits actions; and liability of contractors, businesses, and homeowners. He has appellate experience at the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Workplace Safety Insurance Board, and other tribunals. Gord has experience in alternative dispute resolution and training in mediation and negotiation.
Gord has regularly provided educational resources to casualty insurers with respect to their internal claims-handling procedures. He has lectured to the Insurance Industry Association and made presentations for the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
Gord was the managing partner of the Waterloo office of Miller Thomson from 2006 to 2013 and is presently the managing partner of Miller Thomson’s Southwestern Ontario offices in Guelph, Waterloo, and London and a member of Miller Thomson’s National Executive Committee.
Gord has recently been named in the 2006, 2013, 2014, and 2015 editions of The Best Lawyers in Canada for Insurance Law.
