Alain Laplante practices Business Law and is a Partner in the Montreal office of Miller Thomson. His expertise in business law includes public sector debt financing, venture capital financing, corporate finance, mergers, acquisitions and sales of corporations and securities.
Mr. Laplante primarily acts as advisor to certain public sector organizations as well as small to medium-size enterprises.
He represents sovereign and Crown corporation debt issuers in their transactions on various markets worldwide and advises venture capital firms and financial institutions in investments, including negotiation of terms and drafting of documentation.
In addition, he also represents and provides advice to clients in various commercial transactions including sales and acquisitions of corporations and is involved in the negotiation, drafting and reviewing of a wide range of commercial agreements, including commercial leases.
