Kitchener-Waterloo
Supporting a varied and vibrant economic base, including Southwestern Ontario's hub of innovation and technology
Located in the Accelerator Building, the Kitchener-Waterloo office of Miller Thomson is strategically based in the David Johnston Research and Technology Park.
The Kitchener-Waterloo office can look back on a long and rich history in the Region of Waterloo, during which it has grown into a large business law firm with over 40 lawyers.
Our lawyers also work closely with the firm’s Guelph and London offices, providing clients with the benefits of regional and local knowledge, combined with the resources only a national firm can offer.
Our corporate law and litigation teams allow this office to provide clients with a diverse range of legal services, including advice and representation in commercial litigation, insurance defence, labour and employment law, patent and intellectual property law, and corporate law.
Kitchener-Waterloo History
Miller Thomson’s Waterloo office traces its roots back to 1858 when W.H. Bowlby, Barrister and Solicitor, opened his practice on King Street in what was then known as Berlin. As an integral part of the community, the firm was critical in shaping the local landscape. Over the years it survived the Great Depression, two World Wars, a fire, relocated 10 times and changed its name 16 times.
Miller Thomson Kitchener-Waterloo comprises the Firm's Southwestern Ontario region offices managed by Robert R. Berry.

A milestone was reached when Kitchener-Waterloo’s two oldest law firms — business law experts Clement, Eastman, Dreger, Martin and Meunier and the litigation firm Sims, McKinnon, Varey, Griggs and Trafford — merged to create Sims, Clement and Eastman. The presence of several generations of Clement and Sims allowed the firm to cement its relationship with this community. |
