Pro Bono
Helping those with the greatest need and making an impact
Miller Thomson has a long history of community involvement. The Miller Thomson Pro Bono program is an extension of that commitment to devote legal expertise, time and support to pro bono legal matters and community public service initiatives.
We recognize and support the professional responsibilities of our lawyers to provide assistance to those within our respective communities who would otherwise be unable to obtain access to justice or legal services. Through our formal Pro Bono program, Miller Thomson is committed to identifying opportunities where we can provide individuals and groups within our communities with the assistance needed. In doing so the firm also collaborates with and supports established pro bono organizations in each province that work to facilitate access to legal services.
Our Pro Bono and community involvement encompasses the full range of legal activities including legal opinions and advice, advocacy, drafting of documents, research, negotiations, involvement in law and legal policy reform, and community legal education.
