Legal Executive Assistant – Litigation – Markham (relocating to Vaughan in spring)

We are seeking a confident, committed and organized self-starter to fill the position of Legal Executive Assistant for a full-time opportunity in the Litigation group in our Markham office (re-locating to our Vaughan office in spring). To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Legal Executive Assistant and a Certificate or Diploma from a Community College or equivalent.  Experience in litigation is an asset.

This position requires someone with strong administrative and organizational skills.  The incumbent must be able to work well under pressure, multi-task, prioritize work, and take direction.  A team oriented approach and the ability to work in a fast paced environment are also essential. The incumbent must possess excellent technical, written and verbal communication skills.  They must also possess a mature, professional attitude, to meet strict deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

In this role your responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

  • Completing various tasks with limited instruction/supervision
  • Managing Lawyer’s email and calendar
  • Managing/preparing agendas, coordinating/preparing meetings and materials, appointments, travel arrangements, etc.
  • Managing accounts/invoicing procedures
  • Maintaining client contact to ensure fast turnaround with the utmost attention to top-quality, error-free work.
