Junior IP Legal Assistant

We are seeking a Junior IP Legal Assistant to join our Toronto office for a 1-year maternity leave contract. Supporting the Intellectual Property Team, the incumbent should have a minimum of two (2) years experience as a Legal Assistant and a legal secretarial Community College Diploma or equivalent. Experience in Patents and Trademarks is an asset.
The purpose of this position is to provide support to lawyers and assistants within the IP team on a maintenance level, including tracking and inputting deadlines within the IP software, administrative tasks, special projects and to provide assistance during assistant absences. IP experience, particularly exposure to IP software (such as IP4, PATTSY or similar) will be considered an asset.
The incumbent will have excellent communication skills and the ability to organize and prioritize their own workload. The ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment is essential.
