We are seeking an Accounting Administrative Assistant to join our Markham office. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in day to day duties such as photocopying, scanning, faxing, incoming and outgoing mail and other accounting duties in the Markham office.


In this role, responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

    • Posting of soft cost entries i.e office expenses, civil litigation levies, real estate levies, secretarial charges, PPSA, retrieval costs into Elite on a daily basis
    • Assisting the CFO, Manager of Financial reporting, Managers and other Accounting staff on a daily basis with various administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, faxing, preparing memos and letters, financial reports, bank confirmations, expense requisitions, making travel arrangements etc.
    • Reconciling Lawpro insurance for Lawyers in Toronto, Markham, Kitchener and Guelph offices
    • Maintain storage records and arrange for retrieval and pickup
    • File documents and correspondence such as Lawpro, consult invoices, bank correspondence, PPSA reports etc.
    • Ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.


To be successful in this role, you possess:

    • Post-secondary education
    • Experience working in a professional services environment considered an asset
    • Proven success in working in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with constant interruptions
    • Effective communication skills; including excellent listening and written skills
    • Attention to detail and the ability to quickly identify problems and provide solutions
    • Proficiency in Microsoft office, particularly Excel and Word. Experience with Elite Enterprise is considered an asset.
